The Tire Pressure Monitoring System uses sensors that are located in the air valves to monitor tire pressure levels. When the sensors detect an incorrect tire pressure, the warning lamp illuminates on the dashboard to indicate incorrect tire pressure, and a message appears in the driver's display. When the tire pressure lamp illuminates, this means that one or more tires has an incorrect tire pressure.
Volvo recommends TPMS sensors on all the wheels of the car
The TPMS system indicates incorrect air pressure, but does not replace regular tire maintenance
When the car travels at 30 km/h or faster, the sensors supply data to a receiver inside the car
The TPMS system uses a 434 Mhz radio frequency. Electrical equipment that uses the same frequency can cause system interference and must not be installed in the car. Contact an authorized Volvo dealer for further information.
